Aerobatics Circus Festival is a weekend of friendly circus competitions and workshops for youth ages 6-18.

Competition Categories:

• Novice Silks Solo

• Silks Solo

• Novice Aerial Hoop Solo

• Aerial Hoop Solo

• Specialty Apparatus Solo (any aerial apparatus beside silks and hoop)

• Duo/Group Aerial Acts

• Ground Acts

​

Criteria: 

• Novice Category

  • For beginning level aerialists ages 6-18. ​

  • No more than 1 rotation for silks drops (single star, single salto, etc), no catch and release tricks for hoop. 

  • Routine under 150 seconds.

  • Judging criteria: 1) Character & Artistry 2) Form, Execution & Technique

    • Not judged on difficulty. ​

• Other Categories​​

  • For intermediate/advanced students ages 6-18. ​

  • Silks & aerial hoop categories will be divided into two different age groups (ages 6-11 and 12-18).

  •  Routine under 180 seconds. 

  • Must be on apparatus for at least 80% of routine

  • Judging Criteria: 1) Difficulty 2) Character & Artistry 3) Form, Execution & Technique

    • Based on VIVA Fest scoring guidelines.  

• Music and Costumes​​

  • Music and costumes must be appropriate for all ages. No crude, foul or suggestive language in music. Costumes should be tasteful and not be revealing or suggestive in nature. ​

• Equipment & Rigging​

  • Competitors may bring their own apparatus or ​use an apparatus provided by Aerobatics. Please present your apparatus when you check in, so it can be inspected for safety.

  • Flying: Competitors may incorporate flying into their routine as long as the coach who has been practicing lifts with them is present and able to fly them using our pulley system.
