Lance Nielsen

Aerobatics Owner & Head Coach

Lance has over 13 years experience as a professional acrobat working for  Franco Dragone Entertainment, Sea World San Diego, World Entertainment and Chimelong International Circus. He has had the opportunity to travel throughout the United States, Asia and Europe as a high diver, acrobat & aerialist. He received training in Russian swing, diving and duo aerial from coaches from Cirque du Soleil and Franco Dragone. He received training in circus arts instruction from the Ecole Nationale de Cirque in Montreal.

Courtney Stevens

Aerial Silks Program Director

Courtney Stevens is a professional aerialist based out of Salt Lake City, UT. She trained 8 years in gymnastics, and 10 years in ballroom dance. Her passion for aerial arts began in 2014, and has thus been her primary focus.

She has continued on her aerial journey with her stylistic approach focusing on flexibility, fluidity, and power moves. Her specialty is Aerial Silks, but is also experienced in Lyra, Duo Silks, Duo Trapeze, Contortion, and more. She has had the opportunity to train internationally, including the 2015 Irish Aerial Arts Festival. She has trained with Serenity Forchion (NECCA), Amy Ell, Sarah Romanowsky, Valerie Morris (Frequent Flyers), and more.She is a resident performer for Voodoo Productions, a cirque inspired company in Salt Lake City. She also works as performer for V2 Presents, and an aerialist for Insomniac/Team EZ. She is the owner of her own aerial training apparel company called Courtney Stevens Apparel.

Jacque Tietjen

Coach

Jacque has been doing aerial arts since 2012. She has an extensive background in teaching and coaching various extracurriculars such as skiing, rock climbing, swimming, and tumbling. Jacque her degree in Health Education and is currently teaching at Taylorsville High School when she's not running away with the circus. She has a background in dance, stage management, and theater productions. She was involved in high school theater and community theater as both performer and stage crew. She was our stage manager for our summer show Life of a Pirate (2016), and directed The Aerial Nutcracker (2016). In her spare time she enjoys skiing, climbing and mountaineering.

Samantha Nielsen

Aerobatics Co-Owner & Director

Samantha has been coaching youth sports for 13 years. She has been an aerialist since 2009. She began her training in aerial arts in Guangzhou, China. She performs as an aerialist for Hale Centre Theatre and with Defying Gravity Utah. Growing up she trained in classical ballet and performed with Mountain West Ballet. She ran cross country for Westminster College and graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies. She received her NASM Certified Personal Training certification in 2013 and Group Personal Training certification in 2015. She specializes in youth fitness and is passionate about providing safe and developmentally appropriate training for kids.

  Daniel & Jenny Walsh (Duo Coalesce)    Coaching: Partner Acrobatics & Duo Trapeze   Duo Coalesce is the performing and teaching partnership of Daniel Walsh and Jenny Mahler. The word 'Coalesce' is defined as the fusing and merging of many parts into one whole, which is exactly the philosophy they use in combining their different backgrounds of aerial arts, ballroom dance, and acrobatics into movement that combines the aesthetic of all three disciplines. Both bring years of professional expertise in their specialties to the partnership. They specialize together in performing and teaching Partner Acrobatics / Acrodance, and Duo Trapeze.

Jenny & Daniel Walsh
(Duo Coalesce)

Coach

The word 'Coalesce' is defined as the fusing and merging of many parts into one whole, which is exactly the philosophy Daniel and Jenny use in merging their different backgrounds into movement that combines the aesthetic of dance, acrobatics and aerial arts. Daniel comes from a background of ballroom dance with over 13 years of experience (including dance lifts and acrobatics) and 3 years of experience in the aerial arts. Jenny comes from a background of gymnastics and aerial arts, performing professionally since 2012 in shows at Hale Centre Theatre for Defying Gravity Utah, private events for Voodoo Productions, and various local cirque shows. Together they specialize Duo Trapeze, Duo Silks & Partner Acrobatics.

McCall Nielsen

Coach

Mccall is a professional aerialist and choreographer specializing in aerial hoop and duo straps. McCall’s acrobat background began in high school, where she was a competitive spring board diver, lacrosse goalie and cheerleader, placing in all three disciplines at state competitions. She worked as a cliff diver and aerialist at the Mayan Adventure Restaurant in Sandy, UT starting in 2011 and has been training and performing in aerial arts ever since. Mccall is also an accomplished cellist, who trained under Nicole Pinnell of the Utah Symphony for 7 years and recorded instrumental tracks for 2 albums for a local singing group. She loves anything pink and Disney related.

Evelyne Lamontagne

Coaching: Aerial Hoop, Contortion

Evelyne is a professional aerialist  with over a decade of experience performing with Cirque Du Soleil (Zarkana & LOVE), Cirque Eloize, & 7 Doigts.

She studied dance trapeze, contortion & hoop at the Ecole National de Cirque in Montreal. She trained in rhythmic gymnastics growing up before transitioning to circus performing arts. She is also a certified pilates instructor.

Cambria DeLee

Coach 

Cambria is an aerial artist who started her journey in Kansas City where she trained, performed and substitute taught with Voler - Thieves of Flight. Two years into her training she moved to Nashville where she trained, performed and assistant taught with Aerial Fabricators.

After two more years she moved to Salt Lake City and started training, performing and assistant teaching with Aerial Arts of Utah. She is in the process of receiving her certification in aerial silks with Born to Fly aerial teacher training.
